Star of Elune is a dog kennel located in southern Poland in the Opole Province, in the beautiful Stobrawski Landscape Park. We breed versatile dogs that stand out in show rings. Both working in the field and those lying on the couch.
Our passion and motivation for work are our dogs. To them we have adapted our whole life, everything revolves around them. They live with us and are free to roam the house, as they are full-fledged members of the family – sharing the “couch and bed” with us.
Puppies are born at home and grow up in the midst of all the events, the hustle and bustle of everyday life – cared for around the clock.
We feel very responsible for every puppy that is born at Star of Elune. Our goal is to breed dogs that will be first and foremost great family pets.
We are very selective in our breeding decisions. We try to breed dogs with excellent health, temperament and exterior. Each of them has health tests and must meet strict criteria before being used in breeding.
Thanks to our hard and thoughtful work, the name Star of Elune, has become recognized worldwide. Our dogs live in the US, Canada, Asia and all over Europe, both in kennels but also as best four-legged friends.
We pride ourselves on the fact that our dogs go to the best kennels in the world. We are proud that our breeding work is appreciated and dogs with the Star of Elune nickname are spectacularly successful with recognized titles. Many representatives of the breeds bred by us – Pinscher, Weimaraner or Australian Shepherd have become champions at home and abroad.
Breeding history
Our adventure with breeding began in 2007 with the purchase of our first female, the medium pinscher Caza, and registration of the breeding nickname with the ZKWP and FCI. Then, Lotta – our first Weimaraner Pointer, a beautiful female with an excellent pedigree – joined the kennel.
And so it began...
The first litter in our kennel was born in 2009 – the Middle Pinscher, Caza, gave 7 wonderful puppies.
In 2010, we welcomed into the world the first litter of Weimar Pointers. The partner of our beautiful Lotta became Homer, imported from the USA. A beautiful, titled Weimaraner Pointer. The pedigree of the puppies includes the most famous and titled representatives of the breed.
The medium pinscher is not a very popular breed, so at the end of 2009 we decided to import another medium pinscher, a black and white female, Frida, from Sweden, from the renowned kennel of this breed XITAMIZ. Her first litter we welcomed into the world in 2012 and chose as the father of the puppies a beautiful representative of the breed – Chico, who became the new World Winner (Salzburg 2012). Thanks to this combination, we received an exceptional litter, which made the name of our kennel Star of Elune famous all over the world.
Already at the very beginning of our breeding journey, we recorded a stunning success and in 2009 the Weimar Pointer, Muniek, won the honorable title of World Junior Winner and Best Junior at the World Exhibition in Bratislava.
Further work and challenges
After several years of beating ourselves up with thoughts, in 2017, a representative of the Australian Shepherd breed appeared in our kennel – Fifi, an excellent black tri bitch from Hungary This was a new challenge for us, but in retrospect we do not regret our choice, and the pinscher, Weimaraner gelding and Australian Shepherd although they represent different characteristics from each other – they can live together in harmony. In 2018, we gave birth to a second female Chiara, a red tri imported from Italy. In 2019, the first litter of Australian Shepherd was born in our kennel – 7 beautiful puppies.
If an Australian Shepherd, why not MAS? And so, in 2020, Linda, a female blue merle – Alta breeding line, representative of the Miniature American Shepherd, joined our four-legged herd, coinciding with the recognition of the breed by the FCI. MAS turned out to be a great breed, so we imported three more, this time, from France, two red tri females and one blue merle male, and from the Czech Republic in a short time another black tri male. In 2022, the first litter of Miniature American Shepherd was born in our kennel – 10 puppies.
From the beginning, we have taken care of the development and popularization of breeds – German Pinscher, Weimaraner, Australian Shepherd, Miniature American Shepherd, enriching our breeding plans also with dogs imported from the best breeding lines from around the world.
We pride ourselves on the fact that dogs bred by us go to the best kennels in the world, and we are proud that our breeding work is appreciated and dogs with the Star of Elune surname are spectacularly successful with recognized titles like:
